About This Plant

Sun/part shade; evergreen, with wispy, fragrant olive-green leaves, insignificant flowers, and waxy gray bayberries that can be used to make candles. Wax myrtle makes a great fast-growing evergreen screen, but be careful not to overwater during establishment, or it may grow sloppy and weak. Also available in a dwarf variety.

Origins: Southeastern U.S.

Occasional light pruning.
