This Memorial Day weekend is also a sales-tax holiday for water-efficient and water-conserving products — online purchases included!
Saving water is always a good thing. Saving money so you can save more water is even better. You can do just that this Memorial Day weekend — it’s also a sales-tax holiday for water-efficient and water-conserving products.
The savings begin Saturday, May 23 and continue through Memorial Day on Monday. There is no limit on the number of items you can buy, though not every item qualifies. But this year to promote social distancing, you can also shop online, by phone or mail for water-efficient and water-conserving products.
Some of the water-conserving products exempt from sales tax this weekend include:
- Drip irrigation tubes and emitters
- Soaker hoses
- Rainwater collection systems and products
- All mulch products
- Surfactants and “wetting agents”
- Drought tolerant plants
- Trees
Don’t let these savings pass you by. And remember to shop safely — wear a face mask and mind the 6-foot social distancing guidelines — if you’re heading out to a local retailer.
