About This Plant
Partial shade. Evergreen. A tough, easy-to-grow mondo cultivar, with variegated lily- or grass- like clumping foliage. Use it for edging along shaded pathways and borders, or to add texture and color contrast in mixed beds or containers. Plant in mass for an easy effect.
Aztec grass tolerates a variety of locations, including the semi-darkness under live oaks. It prefers moist or moisture-retaining soil, so in south central Texas it’s probably best suited for areas with deep clay soils.
Clumps can be divided every 2-3 years in late winter/early spring.
Maintenance
Divide clumps every 2-3 years; remove older vegetation as needed. May require supplemental water in exposed locations; keep it in the shade.
